Novel manufacturing methods are continuously probed to provide light weight transportation solutions to meet emission requirements without any compromise on crashworthiness of the vehicles. </div> <div>Selective laser heat treatment is one such novel process having great potential in serving the automotive industry. Enhanced formability and tailored material properties are possible to achieve in comparison to traditional methods. However, the process distorts the material from its nominal geometry. The nature of geometrical distortion arising from selective laser heat treatment, and from combination of selective laser heat treatment and forming process is a domain that requires further exploration.<span style="background-color:initial"> </span></div> <div><br /></div> <div>The presentation discusses geometrical distortion arising from selective laser heat treatment of boron steels. One of the biggest challenges in IoT, is secure and seamless interconnection of devices with limited and non-limited capabilities over the Internet, <br />while utilizing minimum of resources. Group communication has been proven to be more efficient in terms of resource utilization compared with pair- wise communication. However, it does not fulfil the security requirements in the network layer of IoT as yet. This thesis provides a solution that contributes towards security of group communication in the network layer of IoT, using the multicast extension to the security architecture for the Internet protocol (IP) and a group key management protocol that enables dynamic establishment of group security associations and keys, called Group-IKEv2 for IoT.</div> <div>This thesis work presents the design and implementation of Multicast IPsec with Group-IKEv2 for IoT, discussing vital components that should be taken into consideration during design and implementation phases.
