Novel manufacturing methods are continuously probed to provide light weight transportation solutions to meet emission requirements without any compromise on crashworthiness of the vehicles.

Selective laser heat treatment is one such novel process having great potential in serving the automotive industry. Enhanced formability and tailored material properties are possible to achieve in comparison to traditional methods. However, the process distorts the material from its nominal geometry. The nature of geometrical distortion arising from selective laser heat treatment, and from combination of selective laser heat treatment and forming process is a domain that requires further exploration.

The presentation discusses geometrical distortion arising from selective laser heat treatment of boron steels. Results from industrial case studies highlight the need for geometrical assurance to minimize effect of variation in the final product that may arise from the process.

http://www.chalmers.se/en/departments/s2/calendar/Pages/Masterplan-lunch-Communication-Engineering-170328-eng.aspxhttp://www.chalmers.se/en/departments/s2/calendar/Pages/Masterplan-lunch-Communication-Engineering-170328-eng.aspxMasterplan lunch: Communication Engineering
HC1

Read more in the Swedish calendar
http://www.chalmers.se/en/departments/s2/calendar/Pages/Oleksandr-Semeniuta,-Signals-and-Systems.aspxhttp://www.chalmers.se/en/departments/s2/calendar/Pages/Oleksandr-Semeniuta,-Signals-and-Systems.aspxOleksandr Semeniuta, Signals and Systems
Room EC, Hörsalsvägen 11

Control of visually guided event-based behaviors in industrial robotic systems

Oleksandr Semeniuta is a PhD student at the division of Systems-and Control

Discussion leader is Dr. Mikael Ekström, Mälardalen University

Supervisor is Associate professor Petter Falkman
http://www.chalmers.se/en/departments/s2/calendar/Pages/Master-thesis-presentation-Enabling-multicast-IPsec-for-Internet-of-Things.aspxhttp://www.chalmers.se/en/departments/s2/calendar/Pages/Master-thesis-presentation-Enabling-multicast-IPsec-for-Internet-of-Things.aspxMaster thesis presentation - Enabling multicast IPsec for Internet of Things
Blå rummet (room 6414), Hörsalsvägen 11, 6th floor

 Presented by Argyro Lamproudi, MPCOM

Abstract

The efforts of making our life simpler and easier, with sustainability and environment protection being our main drives, brought about the so-called Internet of things (IoT). One of the biggest challenges in IoT, is secure and seamless interconnection of devices with limited and non-limited capabilities over the Internet,
while utilizing minimum of resources. Group communication has been proven to be more efficient in terms of resource utilization compared with pair- wise communication. However, it does not fulfil the security requirements in the network layer of IoT as yet. This thesis provides a solution that contributes towards security of group communication in the network layer of IoT, using the multicast extension to the security architecture for the Internet protocol (IP) and a group key management protocol that enables dynamic establishment of group security associations and keys, called Group-IKEv2 for IoT.

This thesis work presents the design and implementation of Multicast IPsec with Group-IKEv2 for IoT, discussing vital components that should be taken into consideration during design and implementation phases. Experimental results that indicate the performance and security limitations of the considered
system are presented as well.

Supervisor at Chalmers: Kamran Keykhosravi (Chalmers)

Supervisor at SICS: Shahid Raza (RISE SICS, Swedish ICT AB)

Examiner: Tommy Svensson (Chalmers)

http://www.chalmers.se/en/centres/wqlvinnex/calendar/Pages/VINNEX-seminar-with-Johan-Berglund.aspxhttp://www.chalmers.se/en/centres/wqlvinnex/calendar/Pages/VINNEX-seminar-with-Johan-Berglund.aspxVINNEX seminar with Johan Berglund
Virtuella utvecklingslaboratoriet

Presenter: Johan Berglund
Time: Friday April 21, 14.00-15.00

Local: Virtual Development Laboratory, entrance via Hörsalsvägen 7A

Research group: Geometry Assurance & Robust Design/Swerea IVF

Abstract TBD
http://www.chalmers.se/en/departments/s2/calendar/Pages/Edith-Condo-Neira,-Signals-and-Systems.aspxhttp://www.chalmers.se/en/departments/s2/calendar/Pages/Edith-Condo-Neira,-Signals-and-Systems.aspxEdith Condo Neira, Signals and Systems
Room EA, Hörsalsvägen 11

Antenna Evaluation for Vehicular Applications in Multipath Environment

Edith Condo Neira is a PhD student at the division of Communication Systems

Discussion leader is Dr. Claes Beckman, KTH, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm

Supervisor is Professor Erik Ström
http://www.chalmers.se/en/centres/wqlvinnex/calendar/Pages/VINNEX-seminar-with-Martin-Dahl0225-2724.aspxhttp://www.chalmers.se/en/centres/wqlvinnex/calendar/Pages/VINNEX-seminar-with-Martin-Dahl0225-2724.aspxVINNEX seminar with Martin Dahl
Virtuella utvecklingslaboratoriet

Presenter: Martin Dahl
Time: Friday May 12, 14.00-15.00

Local: Virtual Development Laboratory, entrance via Hörsalsvägen 7A

Research group: Automation

Abstract TBD
http://www.chalmers.se/en/centres/wqlvinnex/calendar/Pages/VINNEX-seminar-with-Bjorn-Lindau.aspxhttp://www.chalmers.se/en/centres/wqlvinnex/calendar/Pages/VINNEX-seminar-with-Bjorn-Lindau.aspxVINNEX seminar with Björn Lindau
Virtuella utvecklingslaboratoriet

Presenter: Björn Lindau
Time: Friday June 2, 14.00-15.00

Local: Virtual Development Laboratory, entrance via Hörsalsvägen 7A

Research group: Geometry Assurance & Robust Design

Abstract TBD
http://www.chalmers.se/en/areas-of-advance/ict/calendar/Pages/ACM-VRST-2017.aspxhttp://www.chalmers.se/en/areas-of-advance/ict/calendar/Pages/ACM-VRST-2017.aspxThe ACM Symposium on Virtual Reality Software and Technology (VRST) 2017
Chalmers Gothenburg (location to be decided)

VRST will provide an opportunity for VR researchers to interact, share new results, show live demonstrations of their work, and discuss emerging directions for the field.

The ACM Symposium on Virtual Reality Software and Technology (VRST) is an international forum for the exchange of experience and knowledge among researchers and developers concerned with virtual reality software and technology.

To conference website: http://vrst.acm.org/
