Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation Monitoring (QCM-D)

Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation Monitoring is an acoustic surface-based technique that measures the mass adsorbed to a sensor surface, consisting of a quartz crystal. This technique enables real-time and label free measurements with a sensitivity in the ng/cm2 range. In addition, viscoelastic properties of the adsorbed layer can be measured thanks to the dissipation monitoring.

Three QCM-D E4 systems and one E1 system are available in the group. Each E4 system has 4 flow modules, which allow to perform four parallel measurements. An electrochemistry module and a window module are also available. All the modules can be connected with both E4 and E1 systems. The window module can be coupled with a microscope as well.
