Lunch Bunch: Turbulence - the Bane of Fusion Reactors

Lunch seminar by George Wilkie, Department of Physics, Chalmers University of Technology

Abstract of talk

Plasma turbulence is one of the main roadblocks to achieving net-positive energy gain from current fusion devices. In this talk, I will describe the role that turbulence plays in magnetic confinement devices and recent advances that provide some hope in controlling it.
