Real Scientists never stop doing research. But occasionally they retire, at least partially. In Chalmers the upper age for retirement is 67, and Professor Peter Jagers will celebrate his 67:th birthday in March this year 2008. But, as you know he is still a very active scientist and research leader and he will keep a position with the department on part time after his formal retirement. However, Mathematical Sciences and Mathematical Statistics at Chalmers and GU will organise a symposium from lunch time March 27 to lunch time March 28 in order to honour Peter and all his contributions to science, research training, teaching, and academic leadership. The idea is that on Thursday 27 the focus will be on Peter's academic history and all his different contribution areas with a great party in the evening. On Friday 28 there will be a sequence of statistical seminars.
Organizers: Olle Nerman, Serik Sagitov, and Maria Björkevik
