The Vehicle Engineering and Autonomous Systems (VEAS) Division conducts research in the areas of vehicle analysis and robotics. All research is focused on the transition to a sustainable society and transport system where vehicle safety, energy optimization and autonomous vehicles are the most important building blocks. VEAS has as its overall goal to offer new and innovative solutions to relevant problems in the research areas.
The division has access to modern vehicles for automotive dynamics and autonomous systems, as well as close collaboration with the Volvo Cars full-scale wind tunnel. All research activities are based on simulation, modeling and verification experiments, and central to the business is extensive cooperation with various universities and industrial companies in Sweden and Europe.
The division's teaching takes place mostly in the international Master's programs Mobility Engineering and Complex Adaptive Systems. Courses are offered in the fields of Automotive Dynamics, Vehicle Aerodynamics, Thermal Optimization and Adaptive Systems.
