The Department of Mechanics and Maritime Sciences has a multidisciplinary research portfolio, exhibiting strong theoretical and experimental skills within seven research divisions in mechanical engineering and maritime sciences. We are able to implement unique combinations of physical and theoretical modelling, using in-house competitive research facilities
and through access to our partners’ infrastructures.
The research covers all modes of transportation with its contribution including safer, more energy-efficient vehicles, aircraft, ships and rail transport, as well as environmentally-friendly process techniques and a sustainable energy supply.
Collaboration with the department
There are good opportunities for creative collaborations through the wide breadth of our theoretical and experimental activities in several applications. Please contact any of our division managers for more information.
