Challenges and Perspectives in Computer Vision and Medical Imaging
SPEAKER: Prof. Fredrik Kahl, new professor of Imaging and Image analysis
Making computers see has been a long-time goal and endeavor in computer vision. Despite the fact that the research field still lacks a unifying theory, there has been steady progress towards this goal. More specifically, the mathemical models and optimization techniques aimed at solving specific subtasks have improved considerably during the last decade.
In this talk, I will present and discuss several recent examples of such models and methods that strive to automatically interpret visual data, ranging from applications in multiple view geometry to medical imaging.
Fredrik Kahl recently took up a professorship at Signals and Systems and MedTech West. He previously worked at the Mathematical Imaging Group, Centre for Mathematical Sciences Faculty of Engineering, Lund University.
