Venue and schedule

Astronomdagarna will take place between October 6 to 8 at the Chalmers University of Technology, Kårhuset building, in Göteborg.

The conference starts after lunch on Thursday (October 6) and ends at lunch time on Saturday (October 8). Thursday and Friday are dedicated to talks on scientific research in astronomy and public engagement in Sweden. All talks and discussion in these two days will be in English.

Saturday will be dedicated to non-professional astronomy and other topics not directly related to research with talks and discussion in Swedish.

On Thursday evening, the public Nordenmark Lecture will be given by Dainis Dravins on “PLANETER, PLANETER, PLANETER! Var i rymden finns drägliga förhållanden för liv?”.

On Friday evening, there will be a conference dinner organised as part of the conference. Coffee breaks will also be provided by the conference organisation. 

Lunch will not be provided on Friday and has to be arranged by the participants. Several restaurants are available in and around the campus​.
