GKN Aerospace Sweden AB

GKN Aerospace Sweden (GAS) is a first tier supplier t​o the global aerospace engine industry. A leader in the manufacture of highly complex composite and metallic engine products, the business is equally focused on military, space, and civil markets. The business philosophy is based on close cooperation with the aerospace partners. GAS employs over 2,200 people in Sweden. GAS is a member of the board and has actively been involved in forming the research agenda and the project portfolio. GAS has been a partner since the start in Stage 1.




IKEA of Sweden AB/IKEA Group

IKEA group is a world leading Home furnishing company, dedicated to create a better everyday life for the many people. 2014 turnover was 28,7 Billiard Euro. The IKEA Group has 147,000 co-workers, 315 stores in 27 countries, manufacturing are done worldwide (59% in Europe). The IKEA Group franchises the IKEA retail system from Inter IKEA Systems B.V. in the Netherlands. Inter IKEA Systems B.V. is the owner of the IKEA Concept and the worldwide IKEA franchisor, with a total of 366 stores in 47 countries under franchisee agreements (incl. IKEA Group). IKEA of Sweden AB is responsible for developing and supplying the global IKEA range to all IKEA franchisees and is located in Älmhult Sweden.




RD&T Technology

RD&T Technology is a small spin-off company located in Mölndal, that develops the simulation software RD&T for robustness and tolerance analysis. RD&T Technology offers software and services to a variety of customers in different industrial areas and in close collaboration with research. RD&T Technology participates in the centre to provide simulation technique and to support the development of demonstrators. RD&T Technology has been a partner since the start in in 2007.




SAAB AB

Saab AB serves the global market with world-leading products, services and solutions from military defense to civil security. With operations on every continent, Saab continuously develops, adapts and improves new technology to meet customers’ changing needs. Its most important markets today are Europe, South Africa, Australia and North America. Saab has around 14,700 employees. Annual sales amount to around SEK 24 billion, of which research and development account for about 25 per cent of sales. Saab has divided operations into six business areas: Aeronautics, Dynamics, Electronic Defense Systems, Security and Defense Solutions, Support and Services and Industrial Products and Services.




Scania CV AB

Scania is a leading manufacturer of heavy trucks, buses and coaches and industrial and marine engines. Scania operates in about 100 countries and has more than 35,500 employees. Of these, around 15,000 work with sales and services in Scania’s own subsidiaries around the world. About 12,300 people work at production units in seven countries and delivery centres in six emerging markets. Research and development operations are concentrated in Södertälje, Sweden, and employ some 2,900 people. Scania’s Head Office is located in Södertälje, the workplace of most of the 5,300 people who perform administrative and other tasks. Scania’s corporate purchasing department in Södertälje is supplemented by local procurement offices in Poland, the Czech Republic, the United States, China and Russia. Scania has participated since start of Stage 3.




AB Sandvik Coromant

AB Sandvik Coromant, is the world largest manufacture of cutting tools for machining of metals, employing more than 7,000 having representation in over 130 countries and offices in 38 countries. In the organization close to 600 engineers work with developing new cutting materials and coatings as well as new improved designs of the cutting tools and processes. AB Sandvik Coromant centre for methods and platforms in R&D, situated in Sandviken, has successfully developed a deterministic way of working parametric and rule base design, handling the wide product space covering cutting tools for micro machining up to machining of engines for large ships. The strive for optimization and cost cutting in manufacturing leads to increasing demand of more robust cutting tools enabling a higher utilization of the life of the cutting tool.




VA Automotive AB

VA Automotive in Hässleholm AB stands for complete, innovative and cost effective solutions. We focus mainly on players in the automotive and engineering industries with a concept that spans three strategic business areas; tools, automation and components/systems. It is about complete, innovative and cost effective solutions that include everything from tools and production to finished components. VA Automotive consists of: Swepart Tools AB, Lidhs Tools AB, VA Engineering AB, Ningbo Modern Tools, VA International, New Industrial Technology AB and Läreda Mekan. VA Automotive pursues its activities in three locations in Sweden and two in China.




Volvo Car Group AB

​Volvo Car Group (VCG), the major car manufacturer in Sweden, employs over 24,000 people globally and sold about 465,000 cars in 2014. VCG Design Centers are located in Gothenburg, Sweden, in Shanghai, China, in Barcelona, Spain, and in Camarillo, California/USA. The component manufacture is carried out in Skövde, Floby and Olofström, in Sweden and Zhangjiakou, in China. The car production plants are located in Gothenburg, Sweden, in Gent, Belgium, and in Chengdu and Daqing, China. VCG has also assembly plants in Malaysia. VCG is a member of the board and has actively been involved in forming the research agenda and the project portfolio. VCG has been a partner since the start in Stage 1.
