Center for Higher Ambition Leadership Europe
A few years back, Tobias Fredberg and Flemming Norrgren, professors at Chalmers University of Technology and three colleagues wrote a book called “Higher Ambition: How Great Leaders Create Economic and Social Value” where they interviewed CEOs around the world who managed to create lasting value for multiple stakeholders.
One of the five authors was, Michael Beer, professor at Harvard Business School. Among the interviewees were for example Douglas Conant of Campbell Soups, Brian Walker of Herman Miller, Anders Dahlvig of IKEA and Marjorie Scardino of Pearson Publishing.
Based on the discussions following the launch of the book, they formed the Center for Higher Ambition Leadership in Boston in 2012 as a non-profit (higherambition.org), and the European center in 2015 as a part of Chalmers University. Together the centers have about 50 partner organizations.
