Title: Processing scientific content with Artificial Intelligence
This world is seeing an exponential explosion of scientific output, and it is no longer possible to stay on top of it - including its vital data - manually. For industrial R&D and academic research alike, smarter tools are needed. Iris.ai has spent the last 5 years researching and developing a set of tools for processing the content of scientific documents, automating the entire process from search, filtering, summarization, to extraction of the relevant data. In this talk, we will present the technology behind the tools, walk you through several case studies - from pharmaceuticals via material science to academia - as well as discuss our future roadmap and what might be possible in the future.
About the speaker: Victor is the CTO and Co-Founder of Iris.ai. As the head of both the research and development team at Iris.ai, Victor has had to put his unique experience from a combination of AI research, software development, and technology leadership skills to the ultimate test in building and operating an international startup with a very ambitious vision and goal. Under his leadership, Iris.ai has become a world leader the award-winning AI engine for scientific text understanding. The algorithms for text similarity, tabular data extraction, domain-specific entity representation learning and entity disambiguation and linking measure up to the best in the world. Before founding Iris.ai, Victor worked as a Research Engineer in Artificial Intelligence at Chalmers University of Technology after finishing his second Master's Degree at the same place, in Computer Systems and Networks Engineering. He also has broad experience in corporate software development.
