Overall solutions are needed to take care of the needs of future generations. When we look at a problem, we look at it from all angles - to combine expertise and talents of scientists from different disciplines. Chalmers Production is hosting several cross-disciplinary research centres.
Wingquist Laboratory is an internationally competitive competence centre for multidisciplinary research within the field of digital product realization. The centre envisions a fully digital product realization process, where complex, mechanical, assembled products and their production systems are developed and verified together, without need for physical prototypes or testing.
Centre for Additive Manufacture – Metal, CAM2CAM2 is a Vinnova funded competence centre focusing on research for the development of materials and processes for additive manufacturing (3D printing) of advanced metallic components. The centre is a consortium of 22 companies and five research actors.
MCR is a national centre in machining technology and serves as a collaborative partner for Swedish industry in its development of high-quality, low-cost manufacturing. MCR business members gain cutting-edge research in their field, information about new processing techniques, as well as education that is custom-tailored to their businesses.
This is a centre of excellence for the advance of life cycle thinking in industry and other parts of society.
