HSBs Living Lab- ett unikt forskningsprojekt för framtidens boende
I höst går startskottet för det forskningsprojekt som Johanneberg Science Park, HSB, och Chalmers ”Homes of Tomorrow” har initierat. Planen är att uppföra 20-40 studentbostäder på Chalmers Campus Johanneberg.

 

Training for center directors
Built Environment, a Chalmers Area of Advance,  has initiated a program focusing on leadership and organizational development.
The overall objective is to support center directors as well as activities to be better equipped for meeting demands of tomorrow's scientists and entrepreneurs. Nine directors for Chalmers' centers related to Built Environment will participate in the programme which ends by January 2012.

New research field at Chalmers in collaboration with MIT
Yuliya Kalmykova, assistant professor at Chalmers’ Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, has been granted three million Swedish crowns in Vinnova’s program VinnMer  for project “Sustainable and attractive cities”. The project is conducted in close collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and aims to establish a new Swedish research direction at Chalmers, and develop a  model for  analysis of the flows of the materials and energy within cities; Urban Metabolism.


Fredrik Nilsson gets grants for Architecture in the Making
Professor Fredrik Nilsson has received funding in Formas' new research initiative within architecture. He is one of two selected and the decision means 25 MSEK allocated for the years 2011-2016.

Solar Decathlon: Information event & mingle

Team Sweden from Chalmers University of Technology has the great honor to invite you to an exciting evening about how the international competition Solar Decathlon encourages new study methods and introduces interesting developments for the industry. Representatives from Team Sweden will share their experience in China and talk about our project, Halo. A panel discussion will be held on how to design and promote a climate smart house, in collaboration with Team Sweden’s partners. Later on in the evening, you will be able to meet the students involved and interesting company representatives, accompanied by live music.
