Young Researcher's Scholarships

Application Period

1 January - 15 February 2012

Purpose

As a technical university and research institution, one of Chalmers more important roles is to stimulate and create forums for collaboration with others. The Friends of Chalmers Young Researchers foundation wants to support and encourage opportunities for cooperation between young researchers, research colleagues and the general community. Therefore the Friends of Chalmers foundation support young researchers through educational grants. In a global society, researchers are required to look beyond the borders of their institution as well as their national borders.

Application for the following grants can be made through the Friends of Chalmers foundation:

  • Guest researcher or inspirational visits are intended for study, cooperation or research, which can be combined with networking, at a Swedish or foreign university, company or research institute. The visit can be related to cooperation with researchers in the same or another discipline or experiments in other laboratories, for example. A guest researcher or inspirational visit may range from a minimum of two weeks to a maximum of six months.
  • Short term or inspirationa visit at Chalmers for young researchers from abroad. Having guest researchers from other countries at Chalmers is an effective way to widen international networks. The application is made by the department at Chalmers who want to welcome the young researchers to their institution.
  • Travel grant for attending a conference. A young researcher could attend a conference to present his or her own research, to acquire new knowledge, or for networking and inspirational purposes.
