In the beginning of November, Chalmers Students for Sustainability together with newly founded Handels Students for Sustainability, has the delight to invite you to a lunch lecture with this years awardees of the Gothenburg Award for Sustainable Development, Mike Biddle and Björn Söderberg
The Gothenburg Award for Sustainable Development is one of the most prestigious sustainability awards world wide with recent winners such as Al Gore, Kofi Annan and Gro Harlem Brundtland. The 2012 award is going to entrepeneurs Mike Biddle and Björn Söderberg.
Mike Biddle, with a doctorate in chemistry, started the company MBA polymers in his garage. He has since grown his company to what is now the world’s leading multinational company recycling plastics. He and MBA Polymers has recieved multiple international wards.
Among them, MBA was named one of the top 100 cleantech companies in the world in both 2009 and 2010 and one of the top five cleantech companies in Europe in 2009. In 2010 he won The Economist’s Innovation Award for Energy and the Environment and was named a World Economic Forum Tech Pioneer in 2006.
At the lecture on the 3rd, the chairman of the jury and vicerektor at Chalmers, John Holmberg will shortly present why the prize goes to Mike Biddle.
