Sustainable campus

Track A - Sustainable Campus

A1: Digital twin of Chalmers campus
Organiser: Bernd Ketzler
Time: 10.00-11.00
Room: Catella, Chalmers conference centre, Johanneberg

Computational tools for visualisation and dynamic representation, also called digital twins, offer major benefits for engineers and scientists in general to promptly and cost-effectively prototype large scale implementations.  Having been in use within the manufacturing industry for decades, these tools are now being used for interactive urban planning. VirtualCity@Chalmers is a dynamic virtual 3D-platform that integrates available models and data into a single simulation tool, currently with focus on the two campus sites of Chalmers University of Technology. The platform will allow complex analysis which is necessary to fully take sustainability issues into account in all phases of city planning. In this workshop we will demonstrate the VirtualCity@Chalmers platform and a few concept ideas of how it can be used in urban planning and tackling sustainability issues.

A2: The good life on campus
Student presentations and dialogue
Organiser: Andreas Hanning
Time: 10.00-12.15
Room: Johanneberg Science Park, Sven Hultins plats 2

As part of Chalmers Sustainability day, Challenge Lab will organise a seminar where students present ideas on how to improve sustainability of our campuses. The seminar will also include a discussion on how ideas can be transformed into reality. Invited to the discussion are Chalmers Sustainability Strategist Maria Djupström, and representatives from Chalmers facilities management, Five Star Campus, Akademiska Hus, Chalmersfastigheter, Chalmers kårrestauranger and Johanneberg Science Park. The discussion is moderated by Andreas Hanning from Challenge Lab. This seminar will be held in Johanneberg Science Park (the golden house).

A3: Help evaluate our campus areas - results from survey
Organiser: Liane Thuvander
Time: 14.00-15.00
Room: Catella, Chalmers conference centre, Johanneberg

Visit the exhibition during the Sustainability Day and give your input on how you perceive our campus areas. The results of the survey will be presented in this session.

We have several campus related activities in our exhibition during the event. Please read more here >
