Marcus Johansen

PhD student at the division of Materials and Manufacturing, Department of Industrial and Materials Science

Marcus Johansen is a PhD student in the area of Structural Composite Batteries. More specifically, his research focuses on characterisation of lithium ions effect on carbon fibres.

The goal is a composite material of carbon fibre reinforced polymer, which both can hold chemical energy and endure mechanical load. Imagine the doors and hood of a car storing energy!

This research area is of interest for aeronautic and automotive industry, where weight savings has strong connections to energy efficiency. Structural Composite batteries can lead the way for new lightweight and electric vehicles.
