Åsa Valadi

Head of unit, Office for Strategic Collaborations

Åsa Valadi is Head of unit at the Office for Strategic Collaborations at Chalmers. The mission of the unit is to promote and develop Chalmers’ strategic collaborations with organisations within academy, industry and society as at large, nationally as well as internationally. Focus is on strengthening Chalmers’ Areas of Advance, strategic partnerships and to run projects initiated by Chalmers management group. The unit consists of approximately ten project managers and partnership managers.

Åsa Valadi holds a PhD in molecular microbiology. Prior to working at Chalmers, she worked for four years as project manager at the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, IVA, in Stockholm and one year as international coordinator at SAFER – Vehicle and Traffic Safety Centre in Gothenburg. At Chalmers, she has worked as a project manager, focusing on assessments of Chalmers’ Areas of Advance as well as on international projects aiming at strengthening research collaborations (SACF and MIRAI). In addition, Åsa Valadi has been a coordinator of the Transport Area of Advance, and partnership manager responsible for the strategic agreements with Volvo Cars and Volvo Group.
