The scope of this project is on mobility management, control and routing in novel network topologies based on cooperating distributed multiple antenna systems.
The project will identify promising novel network topologies with efficient joint radio resource management and interference control, and micro-mobility. In addition, the project will target macro-mobility control and protocols in heterogeneous network scenarios.
As an academic project, the project is expected to provide a deeper insight in how to design future wireless mobile access networks, but also to impact the standardization on IMT-Advanced through the WINNER+ project.
This project at Chalmers is a joint research project together with Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), China, within the VINNOVA-MOST program IMT-Advanced and Beyond. Within the project scope, Chalmers will put most emphasis on research related to joint radio resource management and micro-mobility. In the project a close collaboration and exchange of researchers in both directions is expected.
