General informationClimate and Dress The weather in August is mostly sunny and warm with the average temperature of 20-25°C (68-77°F). Bring light clothes and a woolen sweater as well. You might also need a light raincoat or umbrella. Dress will be informal throughout the conference. Currency and Credit cards The currency in Sweden is the Swedish Krona, SEK. Major credit cards are accepted in hotels, restaurants and shops. Voltage Electricity in Sweden is 230 volt European standard (two round pins). Language The official language of DILS 2010 is English. Tipping Service charges are always included and extra gratuities are not necessary unless you will show your appreciation for a good meal or special service. Passport and Visa Sweden is a member of the Schengen Agreement. To find out if you need a visa for entry to Sweden, visit the Swedish Migration Board or contact the Swedish Embassy or a Swedish Consulate in your country. If you need an invitation letter for visa purposes, please send a request by email to DILS.cse@chalmers.se. Badges Each participant will receive a name badge upon registration. For security reasons all participants are requested to wear their badges during all the activities and social events during the conference. Meals Coffeebreaks all days, dinner on Wednesday and lunch Thursday are included in the registration fee.
