Modern systems of today is very often depending on complex computer systems in different configurations from autonomous computer systems, small embedded local networks, large distributed computer systems up to more common and global networks. Security and dependability for these systems and the communication inside and between systems are of vital significances for the society of today.

The Division of Networks and Systems has research and educational activities in this area to understand and increase security and dependability of these systems.

The division is responsible for courses in several Bachelor programmes and many advanced courses, especially in the Master’s programmes Networks and Distributed Systems and Secure and Dependable Computer Systems.
