BIOSUM is an interdisciplinary Research School in Biomaterials. The research school is a collaboration between SuMo Biomaterials and BIOMATCELL, another Vinn Excellence Center. The purpose of creating a common research school is to find new interfaces and spread interdisciplinary knowledge. BIOSUM is financed by Vinnova and Västra Götalands Regionen. The school is directed by Professor Penti Tengvall  and has its main location at Gothenburg University.
