SuMo Biomaterials is a VINN EXCELLENCE centre financed by VINNOVA. We started our research in 2007 and the center is an academic and industrial joint effort with a clear focus on understanding and developing properties of soft biomaterials. Given the complexity of these biomaterials the approach is highly crossdisciplinary with industrial and academic scientists from several fields in chemistry, physics and mathematics. SuMo's concept is to use industrial needs to create innovations and academic excellence in science with the long term goals to generate added values for industry, academy and society.

KEY FACTS

  • Trough strong science and wide-ranging industrial collaborations we are committed to sustainable development of new biomaterials.

  • Our research focus requires a broad range of scientific disciplines with competences ranging from chemistry, physics and medicine to applied mathematics.

  • We focus our research on three areas: Microstructural characterization, Mass transport characterization and mathematical modeling with the long term goal to make biomaterial design by a predictive approach.
