About UsWater Environment Technology has a focus on research and education in the
water and wastewater sector. We have scientists with expertise in waves and
hydraulics, process engineering, systems analysis and environmental science.
We seek to understand and solve engineering science problems, together with
stakeholders within water and energy infrastructures, and with an aim to
develop engineering systems that will contribute to a sustainable
society.
Our research model has a base in industry/stakeholder commitment and cooperation with matching research council grants. We have identified the following profile research areas where we have or expect to reach excellence.
We have close ties with and have carried out research in the MISTRA funded Urban Water program, a program under the auspices of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The program has addressed the sustainability of urban water systems. Our international reputation in the water and wastewater area is enhanced by continued cooperation with the Swedish Development Agency (SIDA) in advanced courses for professionals in developing countries. Water Environment Technology has a fully equipped and modern laboratory for water analysis and hydraulics. The laboratory is shared with GeoEngineering for contaminated soils analysis and includes advanced instruments such as laser ablation-ICP-MS and new demonstration flumes.
