SPERoN 2020 - A tool for predicting the acoustic performance of road surfaces (Leisstra 3, part project 1)

Start of project 2010-12-01
End of project 2013-12-31

The project goal is to extend the existing prediction tool SPERoN (see www.speron.net) for tyre/road noise in order to include
    •    the contribution of air-pumping from the contact between tyre and road to the tyre/road noise
    •    the influence of elastic surfaces on the tyre/road noise generation
    •    the influence of road surface texture on rolling resistance
The project is carried out in cooperation with Müller BBM, Germany and runs from 2011 to the end of 2013.
