The magneto-optical Kerr effect, typically employed as a tool in probing magnetism, is also sensitive to a wealth of optical and plasmonic phenomena. This combination opens the door to new and interesting research fields. My project is primarily focused on the study of plasmonic resonances in various nanoscale ferromagnetic materials in order to expand the emerging field of nano-magnetoplasmonics.
