Presentation:
I'm an assistant professor at the Department of Applied Mechanics
at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. I finished my PhD the 30th of August 2002 in which I studied the turbulent flow in water turbine runners numerically. The main topics of the work were Kaplan tip clearance flow and wake flow behind runner blades and guide vanes. For this purpose I have extended a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) code to handle multiblock calculations in parallel.

Ongoing project:

Right now I am mainly involved in water turbine research within SVC
(Svenskt VattenkraftCentrum = Swedish Water Power Center, www.svc.nu). My main area of interest within this center is CFD of the water flow in water turbines. I am supervising a ph.D. student that is also working withing this center.

I aim to study the following topics using CFD:
Flow in spiral casings
Flow in runners
Flow in draft tubes
Coupling of flow in the whole system
Flow coupling with rotor-dynamics
Cavitation
