Presentation

I finished my Ph.D. in Solid Mechanics 2003 here at Chalmers, and am currently working as Assistant Professor (Swedish: Forskarassistent) at the department of Applied Mechanics, the division of Material and Computational Mechanics. During the period 2003-2004, I worked at the department of Structural Engineering and Mechanics, School of Civil Engineering, at Chalmers. I am co-supervisor for two Ph.D.-students; Andreas Holmström, an industrial Ph.D. student employed by Volvo and Johan Tillberg at Chalmers.
My research mainly focuses within the area of error estimation and adaptivity, regarding as well finite element discretization as modeling in solid mechanics. My position is funded via a grant from the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) in the area of model adaptivity.
My teaching activities lie within the areas of strength of material, constitutive modeling, structural dynamics and the finite element method. Besides my teaching and research activities, I am also a member of the faculty council at Chalmers.
