Diminishing exterior and interior air flow of road vehicles is one way to optimize future transportation.

The division of Vehicle Engineering and Autonomous Systems focuses on engineering of systems in the applications of vehicles and robots. Our strengths are the knowledge of finding solutions to authentic problems, the combination of simulations with real-life testing and stochastic optimization methods and their applications.

Our research aim

The research areas of the division are:

  • energy efficient, safe and adaptive vehicles
  • autonomous systems operating in an unstructured environment

Our aim is to provide novel and innovative solutions to problems of industrial relevance, by means of theory, modeling, simulations, and experimental work.

High class graduate and master studies

To reassure that our research will be managed in the best possible way even after our own academic careers, we are, of course, investing our knowledge in new students. The division offers courses in vehicle dynamics adaptive algorithms, intelligent machines. As a very welcomed PhD student at our division, you will be included in the graduate school Machine and Vehicle Systems headed by the Department of Applied Mechanics.
